Honoring Professor Beck

Sudden and difficult are two words that describe our feelings at this moment in time, but in the midst of these difficult circumstances, we seek to honor the legacy of this wonderful human being who would be consoling us with his steadfast compassion in these difficult times despite any of his own troubles and trials.

We now seek to honor and celebrate the life of this outstanding husband, father, mentor, and friend in a way appropriate for a person who touched so many lives for the betterment of the whole person and whole communities.

Memorial Scholarship

Just days prior to Professor Beck's departure, he was having an all-familiar heart-to-heart chat with a former student in his office in the Dizney Building when the student volunteered to start a scholarship fund in his honor. Although never one to complain, Joe was proud of his students and pleased by this foretelling honor. Making his daily rounds in the Dizney Building, even in his last couple days, Joe was willing to share this story amongst others with his faculty colleagues and his beloved wife and rock, Sue, who is now seeking to help carry out the wishes of her strong husband and life partner.
